Wade announces Senegal-Brazil air link

Wade statement was in response to Brazilian President Luiz Inacio
Lula da Silva concern expressed Tuesday night about absence of a
direct air links between his country and Africa.

The Senegalese leader promised to send an Air Senegal
International delegation to Brazil to give a concrete expression
to the idea upon return home.

Addressing a roundtable on African Renaissance as part of the
Conference of Intellectuals from Africa and the Diaspora (CIAD
II), Wade, who is also outgoing chair of CIAD, recommended the
formation of a conference board and establishment of a publishing
house, an idea floated in the first meeting held in Dakar
(Senegal) in October 2004.

He also suggested the launch of the multilingual review “African
Resistance” and the opening of a website, where all African
countries and the Black Diaspora will send studies on their
experiences in terms of their fight and resistance to oppression,
racial discrimination and injustice.

After announcing that a civilisation museum project and an
African Renaissance Monument will be built in Senegal, Wade noted
that his country will hold in 2007 the World Festival of Negro
Arts and invited all Africans in the continent and the Diaspora
to attend the event.
